tea tree oil for ringworm
tea tree oil for ringworm
I am in Costa Rica where treatment for most things is difficult. I was told that tea tree oil is good remedy for ringworm which I have one spot of on my lower stomach area. I prefer not to take any medicine internally down here so I am looking for something that works fast and from the outside.
Thank you,
Jan Hunt
Editors Note: Jan, Tea Tree oil may help control ringworm. I had a spot on my leg that by applying tea tree oil three times a day, disappeared after about 2 weeks. I don't know if it will work the same way for you, but as a topical treatment, it may.
Tea tree oil can be very drying, so if your skin is irritated or becomes too dry for your liking, mix the tea tree oil with a carrier oil like olive oil, coconut oil, or even vegetable oil.
With my leg, I noticed I had to be consistent, after starting several times but not continuing until the spot was completely gone, it took several attempts to get rid of it.
Be aware too that some spider bites appear as ringworm, but tea tree oil can be soothing for them as well.
As far as nutritional support, consider extra vitamin c and other antioxidants.
Good luck!
