Products Made from Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil household products, solutions and personal care items are made by a variety of companies, some of which have an excellent reputation.

Some of the better known companies are Melaleuca, The Body Shop, Desert Essence, Nambucca, and Tea Tree Therapy. You can find some of these brands at local pharmacies, supermarkets, health food retailers, and online. At least one of these companies is a network marketing company.

Although Melaleuca has an incredible reputation for their great lotions, creams, household cleaners, and more, they have a monthly purchase requirement to get the discounted pricing. This can add up quickly and so might be a major drawback in considering purchasing items from this company. Another factor to consider when purchasing any tea tree oil item, is the limited shelf life of tea tree oil when it's stored in plastic containers. Tea tree oil is extremely volatile, and so easily passes through plastic.

What this means for you, is that the item may have a higher concentration of cymenes and a lower concentration of the beneficial components of tea tree oil if it has been stored for more than about 90 days since its manufacture.

You can create some of your own tea tree oil products by adding a small amount of tea tree oil to high quality soaps, conditioners, shampoo, and non-toxic cleaners. For instance, you might consider adding a teaspoon of tea tree oil to an 8 to 12 ounce bottle of shampoo.

This has a reputation of being a great deterrent for head lice, especially if your children attend a public school or are involved in sports or activities using shared hats or helmets.

What types of solutions are made with tea tree oil??

You can find tea tree oil in cosmetics, soaps and shampoos, household cleaners, aromatherapy, massage oils, agricultural sprays, burn ointments and burn bandages, and even in some oral and dental products like toothpaste and mouthwashes.

Again, when buying tea tree oil health, wellness, or cleaning items, it's important to consider their date of manufacture and how they are packaged. Try to find tea tree oil cleaners, personal care items, and cosmetics, in glass containers or add tea tree oil to some of your favorites.
