I would like to know if Tea tree Oil is useful for fungii on fingernails?

I chewed my fingernails right off now I'm on medication.It's taken me 11 years to restore my nails.I'm trying Tea Tree Oil today cause I have no medication. Do you think Tea Tree Oil is a good idea?
