Ginger root is thought to be second among all
herbs in the number of anti-fungal compounds, and at last count it was
somewhere near 23 of them.
It contains caprylic acid, which is so potent that some have suggested taking three capsules a day no matter what type of fungal infection you have. Caprylic acid has anti-fungal properties.
You can also make a strong solution by taking a couple small chunks of Ginger Root, about an ounce, chopping it up fine, and adding it to a cup of boiling water.
Simmer for about 20 minutes, add a couple of
drops of tea tree oil, and apply it directly to the athletes foot two
or three times a day with a cotton ball or washcloth. Tea tree oil will
help speed the delivery of any topical nutritional supplement because
of its solvent nature.
You can use it in stir fry, or have some candied ginger on hand for upset stomachs and nausea, and it's great in tea whenever you have a cold or feel chilly. It is a warming herb or spice, with culinary and nutritional value.
Women have been known to use it for morning
sickness. If you are susceptible to motion sickness, independent
studies have shown it works great to relieve the symptoms or eliminate
them entirely when taken at least thirty minutes before a trip, and
then every few hours for the duration of the road trip or outing.
