Ear pain

Hi, I would like to know if this product, Tea Tree Oil, can it be use for ear pains ??

Editors Reply:

That's a good question to ask.

Unfortunately, tea tree oil is best kept out of ears. You never want to pour, drip, or apply tea tree oil directly onto your ear.

The only method I have ever seen suggested was to use 1 drop of tea tree oil mixed with 20 drops of olive oil. Make a little plug of cotton from a cotton ball, saturate it with the oil, and then place it gently in the outer ear canal.

This method is not recommended for small children because the cotton ball could be a choking hazard.

Remember, never, ever, ever put straight tea tree oil into an ear canal. It can be extremely irritating to the sensitive tissues of the ear. Do it once, and you will never forget the experience, and it may cause you a trip to the doctor.
