Dogs and ferrets with Tree Tea Oil

I have a 3 lb dogie that has severe reactions to fleas. She has always had skin problems and has had to take prednisone on a couple of occasions.
She has over a period of time lost a good portion of her hair. I have tried a mixture of herbal powders and they did not work. Just cut to the chase; TTO works! I mix it with her shampoo and, actually, I also use it on my ferrets with very good results. Kills the fleas instantly.
Keeping them off is another trick. I resorted to Advantage © until I can work out a complete herbal regime, inside and out.
My question on Daisy is this; will TTO irritate her bare skin? I have used this on her in the past with no problem but that was before the hair loss.
I will wait to hear before I use the TTO on her skin.
Thank you for your assistance.

Editors note
I usually do not recommend using tea tree oil straight on a pets skin, as their central nervous systems are often not capable of handling essential oils as well as humans and large animals do.
A very dilute solution like you've been using may work, but be very careful and look for signs of lethargy, weakness, or confusion, as these are signs of tea tree oil toxicity in your pet.
If anyone has any other ideas, please feel free to add a comment or suggestion.
