Chemotherapy,
Tea Tree Oil,
and Nails

I am currently taking chemotherapy, I was told that Tea Tree Oil would help with the nails. I would like to know how to apply the oil and how often. thank you

Thanks for the question.

If you've checked with other sources on the web, you have probably seen many of the sites recommend tea tree oil. Some of them mention that a 2002 "Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy" article touted the anti-fungal properties.

If the chemotherapy allows a fungal infection to take root, then a regular application of tea tree oil may prove helpful.

If you have dry skin, or if straight tea tree oil starts to cause irritation and dryness, you'll want to mix the tea tree oil with wither lotion or oil to help keep your skin and nails moisturized.

Most of the information out recommends applying the tea tree oil 2 or 3 times a day for best results.

I hope this helps. Good luck, and best wishes as you fight off your illness. Get well soon!
