bathing with Tea Tree oil

by Sheryl
(Minnesota)

Is it safe to bathe in tea tree oil?

Editors Note: Sure, in appropriate amounts. You might find it a very relaxing and cleansing experience to add anywhere from a few drops of tea tree oil, all the way up to a teaspoon of tea tree oil to your bath water as a way to soothe minor cuts, scratches, infections, lice, and yeast infections.

To help the oil dissipate or disperse in the water, use a mild bubble bath or body wash.

The oil may make you skin feel a little tingly, and you may want to complement the tea tree oil with a few drops of lavender or peppermint, or maybe even add a little of both.

One of my wife's favorite ways to add essential oils the the bath, is to mix them with bath salts before adding them to the bathwater. If you don't have any bath salts, a little coarse Kosher salt can do in a pinch.

Enjoy your bath, and enjoy experimenting with different essential oils.
